I run a small yard in Worcestershie and up until now I have only had DIY liveries which I charge £24 a week for. Today however I have some one coming to look at bringing two horses on part livery and I was wondering what people felt was a fair price. The livery would include turn out 7 days a week, muck out, hay and water monday - friday, catching, rugging, making feeds and a quick groom monday - friday. There is good hacking nearby, all year turn out and a brand new menege.

I was wondering what other people pay for a simular service especially those people in the worcs area. Any comments welcome as I really am unsure what to charge. Thanks very much.

Hi

I pay £70 a week for full livery which includes stabling, mucking out, feeding, turning out and bringing in.

They do not groom the horse or rug it.

Hope that helps

Yard near me charges £105 a month DIY then adds extras for each job done. eg £3.80 to muck out. 80p turn out and bring in (each).

I would reckon about £10 per day for the part livery (which sounds like full), on the basis that they are providing the feed & hay, you are just caring for the horse. If they are then doing DIY on weekends, I would take your DIY charge of £24 a week, divide it by 7 = approx £3.50 and charge that for weekend rates.

You're doing quite a lot for the money - I don't think most part livery includes even a quick groom...

I pay the following, if it helps:

Stable (including hay, feed and one bale shavings) £30/week
Muck out £5 /day
Care (including turn out and bring in, change rugs, pick out feet) £5/day

If I got him looked after every day it would be £100/week but I do some mucking out to reduce the cost. It's in a nice (expensive) area, with a manege and good hacking, and the kind of friendly small yard that is hard to find.

Hope it helps

Thank you for you suggestions. I was thinking about the £65 as I wont be mucking out weekends unless asked and will charge for that as an extra and I don't provide the hay or feed. I really don't want to rip anyone off but dont think I can afford to do it for any less. Thanks again.

I pay £60 per week for what you describe, it doesn't includes grooming but does includes 2 bales of shaving and all hay.
