On Friday my horse decided that he no longer wants to wear a bridle. He was fine when I rode him on Thursday then on Friday I when to tack him up as normal and he took one look at the bridle and broke of the side of the stable. I have owned him about 2.5 years and never had an issue. From the way he was acting you would think that someone had been hitting him round the head. Spend 30 minutes trying with no luck he looked terrified. So my mum tried and it took about an hour in the end we put it on and was as good as gold when I rode him. Took off the bridle in the stable and then couldn’t even get a head collar on him.

Have spent the week tried to get my relaxed horse back but he's really not happy.
I was thinking of getting a horse whisper out to look at him he has always been a bit suspicious of what you are doing round his head and it horrible to see him this stressed.
Does anyone have any experience with horse whispers? I’m in Kent so any local knowledge or suggestions would be appreciated.
Sorry for the look post its just been a really upsetting few day and I missed a competition on Saturday which a friend and I had been practicing for. (pairs dressage to music)

I called a lady called Anne Dee. She is in Scotland but if you have speakerphone you can hold the phone to his ear. I was a total sceptic but I had a horse that no-one knew what was wrong with - the vets were non plussed and this lady got it sorted in no time. Mention Gray the Shire when you call her if you do. You can google her and her address will come up. Warning though - it will send shivers up your spine.

I would get a dentist to check his mouth/teeth. We had a horse on the yard that suddenly took a dislike to his bridle and we found that he'd got a very bruised tongue - someone had obviously yanked the bridle off roughly one day and left him very sore.

His teeth probably need checking, but he would put the bit in his mouth no problems but when I lift the bridle up to put it over his ears he throws his head up. I can touch him all over his face, in this ears etc. when he doesn’t have a bridle or head collar on, doesnt seem to be any lumb or bumbs and he doesn't seem to be any pain. He seems to be getting better, still a bit stressed hopefully he will chill out again.

Yes, I was wondering if he had knocked himself some how. Seems strange it has come out of no where. To be on the safe side I'd have him checked over. Hopefully it will be something straightforward to remedy. Good luck.
