So ive ran into a bit of an issue with my current yard owner and really need some advice
To start off i rescued a 10yr Mare during the summer, from what we know of she hasnt had a great life before she came to us and that does reflect in her personality. In saying that, since ive spent time and bonded with her shes turned into a different mare! confident and full of personality!
we are currently in a very small livery yard with mainly older horses, its perfect for us because its 5 minutes from my house and a very relaxed environment to continue her schooling. At the start things were great, she lived out all summer and not a single hiccup, until winter came around and the paddocks were a no go. We have 2 all weather turnouts, both with automatic drinkers and plenty of hay so shes happy out and on dryer days she gets to enjoy herself in the paddocks. the problem is i feel like our Yard owner has no taken a strong disliking to us.
To Make it clear i know my pony can be a handful, shes strong and very VERY clever. it started with her breaking down some fences in one of the all weather tun outs, i of course apologized and took full responsibility, offering to pay, fix it etc. But was told that it would be fixed. Now the issue is that my pony keeps breaking out, shes so clever and works out where the week fencing is, in saying thqat tho ITS ALL WEAK FENCING! i mean 99% of the fencing is rotted, even some of the owners elderly ponys have broken it from scratching their bums against it! As with everytime my pony breaks out i offer my time or funds to replace/fix the fencing but it never goes any further. since the break outs my yard owner has been very cold towards us, making me feel uncomfortable in the yard. she has said some quite nasty things about my pony as well which hurts because she hasnt seen how far shes come! I have videos and photos of the fencing where you can clearly see its rotted, nails sticking out and falling apart, ive never caused any trouble, paid fees on time clenaed up after myself. so i dont think im a bad livery. Id love somebody elses opinion from the horsey world, I take complete responsability for anything my pony does, but if adequate fencing isnt supplied what else am i supposed to do ?
