I think the barmy one is having a bit of a teenage temper tantrum phase.
Up until now she has been ridden in a neue shule baucher with a lozenge and has shown some beautiful work which proves to me she is capable of doing what im asking.
As of the last couple of days she has taken to holding on to the right side of the bit and not leaning on it so much just basically ignoring it. I can hold the contact and not release and she doesnt eventually relax, i can wiggle the rein at her and nothing, everything i can think of to get her to relax and accept the contact is failing miserably.
Her back is fine as is her saddle the dentist is coming up next sunday but i dont foresee any problems there as her teeth were perfect when she was last done in march (i have them checked every 6 months)
She is ridden in a crank noseband but done up loosely as a cavesson so her gob is most certainly not strapped shut and i dont think it is pain related i really think it is a stroppy WB 5 year old phase.
Now..... do i try her in a different bit/noseband or keep on and ride through it or give up completly and teach her to crochet instead?
If i was to chagne bit what should i try... She has had this bit from breaking and not had anything else in her mouth im loathed to put somthing too strong in as she is only young and the last thing i want is for her to back off from
