Does anyone know of any event riders based near Leamington who might take liveries? I hope to take my horse with me to university and ideally would like someone onsite to help me out if I hit a wall and give me some occasional pointers. In an ideal world if they were able to ride him once a week as well that would be super!

Equally happy to find a HHO endorsed livery yard as long as I would be allowed to bring an external trainer.

Background for me: Going into second year at Warwick. Would be bringing a well behaved horse starting to compete at 1m10 level - done 3 BE novice with mixed results!

This might help - http://www.jameseventing.com

He's not quite in Leamington, slightly out towards Henley In Arden/Stratford way but not far from Leamington really.

He's a lovely guy and fantastic rider, he comes to my yard in Chadwick End (between Solihull and Warwick) to do jumping clinics every couple of weeks, and he rides 2 of the horses at my yard for their owner. He even qualified for Burghley young event horse on one of these horses but unfortunately had a fall so he had to pull out, but that should indicate just how good a rider he is!

He is not able to ride at the moment because of his fall (he should be riding again in about 6 weeks depending if he needs an operation or not) but I would give him a call to see if he has space at the moment for your horse.

There are plenty of other yards in the area but I'm not sure if any of them would have another rider quite up to the same standard as James to ride your horse.

Hope this helps!

You could try contacting Central Horse News magazine (covers several counties in Central England) as they did a Livery Directory a few months ago, not sure how to do a link but they have a website. They might be able to sell you a back copy and there is probably a few adverts on the website and in the current magazine.
