I have 2 yearling Shetland fillies half sisters.
They were left to run wild with mum,dad and mums new foal.
I have had them for almost 4 months when i say wild i mean wild couldn't get near them. so put them in a big stable for a few days just to let them know i wasn't there to hurt them.
So any ways ended up hearding them out in to a small paddock and just going in and sitting with them every day one of them became very friendly so we put them back in the stable and i managed to get near one of them to put the head collar on and she is a wee gem i can NOW go up to her and put my arms around her neck and give her a good old scratch, but i can not get any where near the other one she is still so so scared.
but any ways im trying to teach star( the friendly one) to walk on the rope but she is just not having any of it and she rears up and flips over i only tried it once and it was in the stable thank god.
Does anybody have any tips they can give me for star on the lead rope and dolly(the really nervous one) and how to put her head collar on?
My partner has gone in and caught her by her main but she just runs and runs with Oh still holding on she really is scared and i have tried every thing.
I really dont like stressing her out.
so please any tips advice for any of them is very gratefully needed
