Help needed re running a yard or do I give up.

Im with the others, I think your prices are way too cheap. Im up North to and the last yard I was on was nice but not as nice as yours sounds. It was the dearest yard in our area and we were DIY, £35 just for the stable, livery could be provided at £10 a day using our own haylage, bedding, feed etc so it would have cost me about £135 without hard feed. The yard Im on now does very similar but cheaper rent but then stables not as nice. People around here would cry out for your yard at more cost, it sounds lovely.

Like everyone else has said, you're too cheap. I pay a little less for full livery than you've stated but, I'm up North and in a cheap area. Also, we don't have the fantastic facilities you mention.

My yard has 27 liveries but the YO only has 3 staff in the morning (8am - 12noon) to get them all fed, rugged up and turned out then mucked out. In the late afternoon/evening (4pm - 6pm) one member of staff will assist the YO in bringing in, doing rugs and feeding.

The YO has high expectations of her staff - beds have to be mucked out in a time effective manner but done properly, no skimping on bedding, no deep littering. Could you make do with fewer staff?

Also, are your horses on limited turnout? Obvs, it's cheaper from a bedding, haylage and feed point of view if they're turned out longer.

Hope you sort something out OP, your yard does sound a diamond.
