I think you will struggle to be brutally honest. Is it not possible to get someone to ride her for a week or two and then turn her away until you are ready to ride again?

Sorry to hear about your fall.

I think you'll struggle with a youngster. If you haven't got a friend who can help, I would be tempted to turn her away until you're in a position to reback and bring her back into work.

Either that or loan/share as suggested.

You could email Leckhamstead Wharf Stud, which is in Bucks. The owner runs her yard from a wheelchair, not sure how much she does herself and how much her staff do, but might be worth an email for some advice. They have a website, just google the name.

Whereabouts are you - maybe someone on here is local and could give you a hand. Some nice people on here I believe

wow, hats off to you. hope things improve for you soon.
as for working from a wheelchair, i am sure they would get used to it, however, you have to watch that you don't get a jerk which will hurt your back. i had spinal surgery 5 weeks ago and that is my fear. i am going up and grooming and bringing in from the field etc but being careful. i know that being pulled will really hurt and if i am to recover in decent time, that would be the worst thing to happen. mine are really good on the ground but they are still horses and things happen.
my horse is off for the next couple of months but she is not a youngster and won't be a problem.
good luck for a speedy recovery.
take care

You sound like a very strong minded person and could probably teach us all a thing or two!! Have you got any friends who could help you? Maybe that person could stand with you while you lunge your youngster and at the same time get it used to your chair, hey, I really dont know! what is it you specificly want to do with your horse? Maybe with such an injury you may be best to turn your horse away for the winter and give yourself time to heal ( sorry, dont want to sound patronising)

If I lived near you I would come and help! Anyway get well soon.
