Help needed to understand worming for my new horse

Hi folks,

Ok - I'm totally baffled. I've been trying to get an online worming programme for my new horse and more confused than when I started

The situation is this...

New horse. Probably not had much worming treatment before and its has been recommended to give him (and the other ponies/horses he is with who are due for worming) a 5 day panacur course in the feed.

Where do I go after that? I know bots are due Oct time but all plans I can find start Jan and if I start on the 5 day wormer I dont know where that leaves me.

Plus I want to know if I follow a plan this year using different wormers, do I need to use totally different wormers next year?

The horses are out on good grass 24/7 but can come in in the winter if they want to.

If you are still totally flummoxed about the subject just have a quick chat with your vet & he'll advise you on what to give the horse, when to dose & what that particular wormer does

start with panace if unsure of worming history then do Equest Pramox at this time of year to cover everything. Then Equest in Dec, Pramox in Mar and Equest in June - it really couldn't be simpler :biggrin:
