Hi
I am about to purchase a new Bates Isabell Dressage saddle and need help with what to buy.
The shopping list - Sprenger Bow Balance Stirrups
Bates Stirrup leathers
Dressage Girth needed
Pads - Half Pad + Normal non padded pad
or
Padded pad with padding at the top
The Girth - Now here is a problem, I have been told not to use the Humane ones as they contribute to the saddle moving forward, I need a shaped one but should it be an all leather , neoprene or string.? I like the ones with roller buckles and elastic there are so many out there.....
Saddle pads/Numnahs - Another problem, I ride with my weight at the back of the saddle and the saddle needs to have wedge in the back.
Should I get a sheepskin pad that will give extra protection for my horses back or once the wedges are in should I have a pad - not sure if i should give the protection anyway ,( I do not want to feel perched on top of the horse, I want to sit in - if you know what i mean ).
Should you get one pad with the sheepskin padding built in or do you use a half pad and another pad underneath ? Sorry for the silly question but I do not know how this works ! and what the benefit is of either method...
Can you help ( anyone with pictures )
