Further to my post yesterday I have decided to sell my lovely mare ' sob' . Had a long discussion with hubbie and the bottom line is that I dont have time to hack out more and iron out the little issues she has hacking alone (nothing bad, just a bit spooky and trying to just be ultra quick at all paces). I took her for a lovely hack today round all the stubble fields, even cantered a couple times, dropping back to trot and cantering again to really test me and though she was quite excitable she wasnt strong and didnt cart off or shoot sideways even when partridges were flying out from under her feet. I felt in control at all times just that she was tense and very much on her toes. Worked her for 10 mins in the field when we got back and she went lovely. However it was enough for me to decide that though satisfying to have worked and ridden well I was stressed by the whole thing and its just not worth it - if I could do every day - great - I know I would work through it but not feasible soooooo..... vital stats 15.2hh 12 yr old mare, 3/4 TB 1/4 hanoverian. professionally schooled and competed Sj, showing with last owner (of 6 years), just hacked once a week with 3 or 4 lessons over last 6 months. very laid back nature, very gentle, loves fuss and attention. Not mareish at all. !00% catch, shoe, load, bath etc. Blemish free and no vices.

So how would I word an ad to deal with the sharpness out hacking?

Also I think she is a great project for someone who would ride her more than me. I have a price in mind but what do you think is reasonable to ask?

here is her picture:

She looks a nice sort - you could go with the phrase 'enjoys her work but can be forward going and a little sharp when hacking'

That way you're not lying about it and you hopefully won't get folkies who want to plod sedately round the countryside!

Price wise £3 - £3.5k?? Maybe more if she has super breeding.

Hi
Firstly your horse looks stunning x perphaps something like- due to circumstances hacking low mileage- not a novice ride- will improve more she does- people will be reluctant to pay a high price with winter coming if horse sharp and spooky but if seen as a workable project may take on the idea- I did last year and my guy improved 100% with consisitent hacking- good luck
