yes it is a genuin post i'm concerned and worried, been to the police they cant really help as they are not sure of this sort of situation, butthey did say they couldnt turn up with amoments notice they have to five warning to collect.

unfortunatley i could kick my self for falling into it thank you anyway

Sorry but someone cant just (s)troll up 3 years later and demand a horse back! If they had a problem with the amount you didnt pay they should have took back then but you would have paid more than that in care of the horse. Just threaten legal action.

If you have been to the Police and taken Legal advice then why are you asking for help on here? You have been to the professioal bodies and got your answers there. Maybe its time to let it rest and go to bed now. Put the old laptop away and get some sleep and dont kick yourself too hard, it may hurt.

If this is DR btw maybe you should try short story writing to fill your time instead?? Would be far more interesting than forum posts!! Id defo read them with your imagination!!!
If this is a real post see other reply!

excuse me.... i came on here looking for answers because i assumed the horse and hound was the best place to ask because generally there is useful information on here...seems i'm wrong.

why on earth would anyone post something made up. I came here hoping someone might beabke to help before i have to part with anymore of my money on anymore leagal fees. That's your opinion what you think. as for punctuation, etc its a forum it works the same way as the chat rooms.

thankyou to those who have been helpful

Actually, you are wrong, it doesn't work like a chat room and it is incredibly rude to use text talk, or to omit punctuation, on a forum. When you write like that, as was explained to you much earlier in your post, it is very difficult for people to read and get the gist of what you are saying. This forum is very helpful when people have the manners to write correctly and make sense in what they write. It infuriates me that people come on here and complain when they don't have the decency to make their posts easy to read and understand. If you want to write chat room then go to a chat room. You have received a lot of advice already and coupled with the legal advice you have already taken should know exactly what you need to do. As for making things up, there is a problem with what are know as trolls, people who make up lots of sick and stupid lies, because they crave attention and are too stupid to hold an honest and decent conversation. Trolls tend to write in text talk or chat room talk as you put it, which is why so many references to them in your post. As I said, you were warned of this much earlier in your post and perhaps no-one took it seriously because you couldn't be bothered to write properly..

Must go to bed, I'll be so knackered tomorrow I'll look like I've been pulled through a hedge backwards, you know, like those old troll toys?! Night all!

Just on the offchance you're NOT trolling, here is some good advice (as I've been in a similar position as has a friend of mine and we both kept the horses concerned!)

1. You have kept the horse for 3 years, cared for it and backed it. The estimated value of that I would put at - at LEAST - £3,000. Are they prepared to pay you that to get the horse back??

2. Why on EARTH would they have left the horse with you for 3 years if THEY owned it. And why on earth would you have done all that work and spent all that money on someone else's horse? (that's what the Courts would wonder.)

3. The police will not get involved as it's a similar matter UNLESS they attempt to remove the horse from your property when they will attend - if asked - to prevent a breach of the peace. You tell them the horse is yours - they are trying to take it unlawfully - and that there is going to be one almighty breach of the peace when you stop them!

3. They will then escort these people off your property and tell them that if they think they own the horse, they should take legal action against you!

4. Of course all this relies on them not being able to 'steal' the horse in your absence. In my case, involving a very pregnant mare and her 11 month old (weaned) filly, they arrived at my property in my absence and the ansence of my staff, loaded the very pregnant mare, and then tried to load the filly who bolted from them and was heading up the drive towards the road when she met my staff returning from hacking. Horses were put in stables, people were ordered off my property. They waited 4 hours for the police to arrive and were then escorted off again, when I told the police the horses were mine and I would do ANYTHING necessary to stop them leaving!

They were persistent and eventually a court summons arrived (Small Claims) - I represented myself - and won!

5. If the horse is where they might get at it in your absence, move it fast!

Although the punctuation is not perfect. The spelling suddenly became better instead of text speak when the poster became angry.

When I read posts asking for help as a kind person I want to help and be useful where I can.

I am starting to feel a bit wary of any posts asking for help from posters I do not know, wondering if it is a real person with a real problem or a troll.

This is sad as I am sure others feel the same way as I and when a real person needs help perhaps people will think twice about taking the time to offer advice or words of kindness.

The acts of one person can ruin a friendly community...So sad :-(
