Hello everybody!

I am quite new to this forum so please forgive me if I don't know what I'm doing...

I am getting new pony transported home at the weekend and it's quite a long journey (120 ish miles) so I think I need some travel boots for him.

Have trekked round the local tack shops today and had no luck getting any travel boots...does anyone have any idea where I could get some online with next day delivery without paying an absolute fortune?! I can't really spend more than £25.

Or...is there anyone in Leicestershire who knows of anywhere that have some for sale?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

agree with sooty, cheaper and easier!

Who is doing the transport for you? If it is one of the licensed transporters with a large lorry, they may well advise against travel boots. My own mare was transported 160 miles in one of these lorries, with no boots and no problems. In fact we never travel our horses in our own lorry with boots as these tend to make our horses hot and fidgety and we have CCTV where we keep a close eye on them. Ask the transporter before you rush out and buy boots.

there isnt any hard and fast rule to say he needs to be booted for travel.
i'm in the "dont bother" camp, as i personally dont see the point of them......they slip, move around, horse stands on them....the list is endless.

if you are worried, just buy 4 stable bandages and put them on.

Thank you everyone, I can't borrow a set but I will call the transporter tomorrow to see what they think. They do have a big lorry and I know they've got CCTV so hopefully pony will be OK without boots!
I just want to wrap him from head to toe in cotton wool so nothing bad can happen to him!
