I took some tack home for cleaning, have re-assembled bridle etc all fine but have come unstuck with the martingale/breastplate.

So does the martingale stop need to go above or below the breastplate?

And next. It seems to haev been broken at some point and I can't figure out how to re-attach the neck strap.

The side the neck strap is attached to looks like this:

And the side I think it should do up on once it's over the horses neck looks like this:

Now I'm assuming there was once a leather loop holding the strap on, but it's not there now and wasn't when I took it apart either. On the second pic you can see I have a spare leather strap and keeper. Am I just being really really dense, have I broken it somehow? Any ideas?! I knew having a horse who was snaffle mouthed only would get me unstuck someday- didn't realise it would be when I couldn't put a simple piece of tack back together tho! I feel like a right numpty!

The stopper on the martingale goes over both the bit that goes between the legs and the neck strap. Very fiddely to get on.

I don't think i've got a good enough picture of one, i'll have a look.

How on earth am I supposed to get it like that? *Goes off to play with the martingale*
No ideas on the breastplate neck strap I take it? Think I might either get it fixed by the local saddler or ask horses owner what I've done and just look like an idiot!
