Sadly it looks like my horse is going to have to be retired from riding. I don't want to rush out and buy another one so started having weekly lessons to improve my riding. I really miss hacking out, I have put a few adverts out looking to help someone hack out a few times a week but not having much luck. I have tried most of my local equine Facebook pages local tack shops etc.

Any ideas where else I can look.

Thanks

I would try preloved, with facebook banning sales ads you don't see as many for shares or loans on there. Or if you have any horsey friends could you mention it to them that you're looking for a horse to hack out as they may want someone to ride out for them or know of someone who needs an extra hand.

Ask the owners of local livery yards if you can pop a notice up on their boards - always someone wanting a horse exercised around here.

I've posted this on another thread recently so sorry if I'm repeating myself, but I've found the following a good place to start:

Horsemart
Horsequest
FridayAd
Horses4homes
On here - h&h
Righthorserighthome
Local tack/feed shops
Any local horsey magazines
Word of mouth!

Good luck!

Ah shame! I’m Surrey so a bit far 😂. I imagine you’ll suddenly get loads of offers come winter when it’s cold wet and dark

Have you tried putting a notice up in local feed stores and tack shops ? Preferably with a photo of you riding, doesn't have to be an impressive photo, but one that gives an indication of your size, age and the kind of horses you're familiar with.
