My WB is feeling a bit flat when working at the moment and I think he really needs a bit more energy. He has a fibre based diet due to ulcers abd has ad lib good quality hay. I think at the moment he is just struggling a bit due to there being noting left in the grass - he has dropped a bit of weight although as he is a good doer it isn't snything to worry about!!

I was looking at the Allen & Page Sustain - anyone got any views or tired it or other ideas?

Yes he has alfalfa and speedibeet with some A&P Quiet Cubes (hi fibre nuts with linseed oil) twice a day - am trying to avoid cereal/muesli mixes which is why I was considering the Sustain.

I think he just needs more calories but already has big bowlfuls of fibre so needs something more concentrated - this winter has been quite hard on them I think in terms of energy consumption to keep warm - despite eating his own body weight in hay!!

I have a WB who is a poor doer but can get fizzy. I feed him baileys #4 conditioning cubes, alfa a oil and speedibeet year round and baileys outshine and pink powder (probiotic) for weight gain when he needs it.

we sell quite alot of sustain at work, the only thing i would watch out for is that he hasnt had ulcurs flare up as they cause a lack of performance, if this has only recently happened i would feed his some pre/probiotics and antioxidents to see if it settles his stomach and he perks up. protexin is a good one, or equimins gastro shield.

Cool condition cubes by Top spec or add more oil and alpha a oil. You can feed up to 7 wet scoops of speedibeet a day safely. ( yes |I know it sounds a lot but is quite safe)
