Hi can any one give us advice
Our new mare has turned into a bucker n very sassy !
She’s squealing kicking the stable wall and bucking in canter
Normally she’s fine .
The vets put her on regumate and has been on it 6 days
When does it start to kick in week two weeks ?
Thanks in advance

Have you had the saddle-fit checked? If you have get a 2nd opinion, bucking going into canter is a classic sign of a poorly fitting saddle

What do you mean by 'all the checks'?

If you have had the saddle fit checked I would get a 2nd opinion. Something is clearly troubling her. Or you could simply go straight to your vet.

She’s been seen by our vet who prescribed the regumate
Had back teeth and saddle fitters

Vet says it’s hormones as when not on season she’s a star

Bucking into canter and kicking in the stable are definite signs of pain/discomfort. I'd personally be asking vet for further investigations related to her seasons - could be cysts on her ovaries for example.

She was scanned before putting her on regumate to make sure all was ok before he prescribed it .
Sorry should of said kicking in the stable when she sees the feed coming out , and when the gelding in the next stable sticks his head over

my mare is the same, she has grade 3 ulcers. The vet also thinks she needs to go onto regumate as well as she does become worse when in season

She is currently on Ulcergold and a Sucralfate powder. Full course of those for 8 weeks then to half dose for another 4 weeks. Once we are happy its manageable she will stay on Gastroeze
