as some of u well kno my TB mare abby is now only going to have the winter off to try and let her body recover from all her absesses etc tht she's had in the past year and then she's only going to be used as a light hack ( still hoping tht she will be able to do more, but trying not to get my hopes up)
since being off she is feeling better than ever i've never seen her so happy an playful in the field and we have had no further problems since ive not been riding her which is great............ but she is going totally mad when i bring her in/ put her in the stable, she's trying to barge her way out, dancing about when leading her, and tanking off when i get to the field. obviously this is due to her having so much excess energy so i'm just wondering if there is anything i could do to alter her feed? she currently gets:
1 scoop of speedibeet
1 scoop of conditioning mix
her NAF superflex
and well she is turned out 24/7 till winter hits
she's been fed this once a day and she has held her weight and condition brilliantly through all her problems this year and she's a good weight for going into the winter
any ideas would be greatly appreciated??
do u think its worth lunging her in the field gently??
