Friend's maiden mare delivered a pretty filly easily last Thursday (called "Jubilee", naturally!!) Textbook delivery with nothing unremarkable. Filly is thriving, feeding well, skipping around, friendly... all as normal, however a couple of days ago my friend noticed that the filly's tongue is hanging out of the right side of her mouth quite a bit. If friend touches it, filly sucks it back in, but it just hangs there when she's resting. Doesn't impede feeding at all. Vet says if filly is feeding and thriving not to worry but my friend is a bit concerned. Anyone had any experiences that I can reassure her with please?

Bit odd after what you have described but sounds like a mildly dummy foal. I fso she will grow out of it, mine did it in extremis and would run about with tongue lolling but not now. As vet says if no other worrying symptoms orally I wouldn't worry yet. She might just like playing with her tongue.
