I am considering that maybe the purple o/r boots and numnah with the yellow and orange may be the start of his complex

Tell him not to worry, I bought some very similar orange and yellow boots at YHL last year (from a very patronising woman but that's another thread) and they usually fall off less than mile from home. In fact one has permanently disappeared now!
