I'm going to my and pony's first In Hand show (Section A - class is M&M Small Breeds) on Saturday and I was under the impression that 'correct' dress for him would be a white halter but just read the rules and it says...

"Horses and Ponies should be shown in a bridle suitable for their type/class. Judges opinion on suitable bridles may vary and their decision is final."

So should I show him in his brown leather bridle with eggbutt snaffle and a leather lead rein on the noseband instead?

Thank you

Actually thats not correct, either is acceptable for a Section A gelding, its purely down to which you think suits your boy better. Good luck!

He looks fab in either (in my opinion!:p) so would the rein be ok on the nose band like ridden lead rein classes or on the bit rings?

Thank you advise is much appreciated

Geldings certainly can be shown in white halters :)

Is that a Sec A in your profile picture?

I don't have a picture of him in his halter but here's a picture of him yesterday in a bridle, although his black one not his brown one that he would wear Saturday but this will give you an idea... halter or bridle???

(Please note we were at yard fitting the new black bridle (after dog chewed the last:mad:) and girls wanted to 'sit' on him- they don't normally 'ride' in their wellies)
