Ideas/advice all welcome in this little problem please.

Ruby has starting getting really noisey in the car on basically every journey we make. Whining constantly getting louder with occasional barks. She used to travel fine in my old vitara either in the front or the back but since I changed to a fiesta she's been gradually getting worse. She currently has the whole of the back of the car (seats folded down) with a big duvet and blankets. She's tied up with a lead rope which still lets of lie down comfortably but means she can't get into the front. I have tried her in the front but was far too fidgety. I've tried ignoring her, telling her to be quiet etc but it just does nothing :( I could understand a little excitable noise if she knew where she was going ie to a fun place etc but its everywhere we go! Just don't know what to do as it really is annoying.

Sorry for the long story lol choccy bars for anyone who got to the end!

I'd look into getting her a travelling box or use a metal crate with a blanket over it. I'd feel a bit queasy in the situation you describe! Anxious dogs can generally feel more safe/secure in a confined, covered space or den.

My friend described her as sounding like a seagul lol have wondered about a crate, how big should it be in terms of being able to move about? She has a big crate in the kitchen but not sure if its too big if that makes sense!

What CC said, restrict that space she is now using to whip herself into a frenzie and leave the car parked on the drive with her in (in the crate) so not all "getting into the car" end in an exciting walkies.

Will measure the car and see if I can find a suitable crate. She doesn't jump around and will happily wait quietly in the car if I leave her in it, just seems to make noise when the car is in motion
