Okay, sorry this may be long as I want to get everything down.

Last october my 4y/o started to be very very stiff and tail swishy and agitated (sp?). He would tail swish 24/7. Got physio out as though he may have spasm, she diagnosed off pelvis and if no better in two weeks get vet.
2 weeks later no better so got vet out 2 weeks after that.

Vet eventually diagnosed damaged hind suspensories in both legs, not the suspersory itself but almost what you'd call the attatchment at the top (id like to point out I had only had him approx 4 month so damage was done by previous owner and vetting didnt pick.it up, 2 stage)

Anyway, week later he got steroids injected with a 50/50 chance of them working. Now into december.
He had 3 weeks off on anti imflams and then 2 weeks work where vet will come out after to see how he was.
Vet came out and said he was fine, just get physio out again and keep her updated.

Got physio out 3 weeks later and she said he was a different horse.
He has been a different horse, so loose moving, fantastic mannor and attitude and so so willing.
So from begining of february he has been slowly slowy brought back into work on vets request (she wants him eventing fit and ready by october as if any more treatment is needed the.claim is still open)
So he is now at the schooling x2 a week, 2x hacked out and 1x canter work if ground is okay.
I.would very much like to stress how happy and forward and willing he is through all of his work and is a happy chappy, a diffrrent horse compared to.last october.
We have one dressage under our belt and flat work has excelled.
I would also like to say no tail swishing has occured since treatment (vet said it was a sign of discomfort)

Now, over the last few days, maybe a week, I have noticed he is tail swishing a lot more than normal, in his stable, in the field, also when you brush him etc... The weather is crap.so certainly not flies.

I brought him in today to find his swishing his tail and aggitated when I ran my hands down his back. he is also swishing when standing still eating and just standing doing nothing.
He is not lame though or stiff like last october.
The saddler was out in feb I think.and said saddle should fit again when he has muscled as it was fitted perfectly when he was fit ish last oct and physio said nothing of saddle when she was last out. Saddle seems to fit very well.now hes got his muscle back and there are no rub marks on.

Now, I dont know what to do? Should I give vet a ring? Or maybe physio? ( vet is happy for me to use physio whenever I feel its needed). Or mabye saddler?
He still is himself when working and I.lunged him today to see what he was like soundness wise and he was off happy as larry.

Sorry its long and waffling, just not sure what to do and ive been so careful with him. ;(

As the physio is already involved I would get them first, mine will look at the saddle when treating a horse, if your horse is still changing shape, which as a 5 year old he will be, it could just be something needs treating that has altered as the work has become more intense.

I'd get the physio again, she will check the horse and the saddle fit. It certainly sounds like pain again. Perhaps he is particualry sensitive.

What about doing a bute trial? It will soon be obvious if its pain related and if so Id be getting the vet out

I think it is pain but more growing and something not right or back. Physio will tell me to get vet if she thinks hes fine as she co-ordinates with the vet I use.
I have no bute and dont want to buy some as parents as paying kindly for him so just wanna get it sorted through physio/vet as they are none horsey and think im messing them around, good idea though!
