Can anyone recommend a vet please who can mediate my horses TMG? She had a CT two weeks ago which shows changes to her TMG. Desperately trying to find a vet who can treat her asap after being messed around all week by current practice. Shes in a lot of pain with this and has been a long time. Im near Oswestry in Shropshire. Thanks in advance.

I think I saw your post on Facebook. I don't know your area very well but I would be on the phone to your vet demanding that they send someone or that they have an alternative place that you can be referred onto as she looks like she's in a lot of pain. I hope you get something sorted soon x

Not to sure about your horses problem, there is a equine hospital Nantwich vet group tel 01270 628 8888 google map shows about 35 mile from Oswestry straight run. These are the BEST VETS I know ,our mare was in the hospital for 11 days in July ,and we are about the same distance away as you [Wirral] I think if you call them they will be able to advise you, hope this helps .

Thanks for your replies, have found another vet who can do it this coming week. Very disappointed with current practice that they couldnt have done it before xmas or even before next year, if they had just said on Monday that they were too busy then I could of found someone else to do it before xmas, as she seems to be in a lot of pain and has been for a long time with this and other stuff. Shes had lots of teeth problems (and other things) diastemata, peripheral caries, quidding, impacted teeth. Now this TMJ problem. Shes very sweet and very special to me. Shes been waiting to go for a CT since June but I couldnt afford it, but my parents paid for it in the end and I've scrapped enough together to pay for her Jaw to be medicated in the hope that this works.

Current practice been my vets 25 years and I've not used any other vets for over 18 years. They have done a lot of work here with my horses and others. They have some excellent vets. I've not had the best of luck with my horses over last four to five years, one problem after another and they must of cost me over 30k in vets fees, all were paid every month as due. This mare Rosie (Silverfire) with the TMJ problem, she has had various problems over last four years and must of cost me getting on for 15k in vets fees herself. So I owe current practice bit of money at moment which I cant pay till Ive sold one of my horses. They have been good and have said I can pay bits off till I sell the horse when I will pay the rest but any new treatment has to be paid for in advance which I suppose is fair enough although scary to have lost my account and have to hope have no emergencies. I guess thats why they were in no hurry to medicate Rosies Jaw :(

Update for anyone interested, Rosie had her Jaw TM joints injected with steroid yesterday (by James from Stretton Hills). Here's two photo's of the left side joint, the blood is from the injection. Have to wait and see if it works now
