i was wondering if anyone could offer any guidance on beach riding in the south? Ive been to w.wittering before but that was with others and i just tagged along so didnt have to plan anything!
I want to go to a beach in the evening - best ones? i can cruise down the A3,A23 etc in an hour or so. Parking? and i can check tide times by ringing up or checking on the internet i assume?
sorry to be a plank!

tide times on the web like BBC and you would need to check out parking before arriving as west witterings will allow you to take a trailer in but not off load horses or load up in there.

climping is nice but parking is tight.

West Wittering is good. Tessa, at Cakeham Stables will let you park your trailer for a small fee and you can access the beach from her yard. She will advise you the best time to arrive, your window of opportunity between tides.

oh wow thank you thats so helpful! i think that may be where we parked before, for the princely sum of several bottles of wine!
its not going to be seen as rude or intrusive I hope to ask to do that? Even if money is involved? I hate being a nuisance

Think it's a common occurrence at Cakeham - just ring them and explain/ask.

If not, ring the Equestrian Club at Thorney Island barracks as they ride onto the beach too I think :)
