I have a hairy Icelandic with Cushings. This year, he is even hairier than ever and needs clipping every 2-3 weeks

Problem is the clippers just can't cope with his long shaggy coat. Last year I had Lister neons and they just kept overheating. Then I tried Mavericks, but they just snag in his coat even with having the blades sharpened really often. Today is the final straw, I have half clipped him and the clippers just ground to a halt. So now he looks like he has been clipped with a knife and fork and one side is still shaggy. Are there any really heavy duty clippers that will cope?! Any help and advice please

Might be best to use coarse (cattle) blades first, then go over him again with medium ones if you don't like the "corduroy effect"! I had a hairy horse, and clipping him used to knacker the blades AND the clippers until I started doing this.
