Hi guys I know this should be in vet but it being a Sat night thought i might get a faster answer in here!! Had my mare at the beach this morning, she loves it and had a great time! had a great gallop (which she is more than fit enough for!) and blew away the cobwebs. however since lunchtime she really hasn't been herself...won't really drink and very slow about eating which is very very unlike her. she is most definitely not colicky, temp is normal and when i brought her for a walk she was ok just the whole eating/drinking thing is weird. she's urinating and pooing normally. anyone any ideas what could be up?

She could be a bit dehydrated? Horses lose a lot of water travelling and it's been a mild day for the time of year.
Try to get her to drink (sugar beet juice can work well) and although you don't think it's colic, I'd watch for the signs, just in case.

Thanks yea thats what i've been thinking and we are watching for colic! she had a bucket of water with a wee bit of sugar in it to try encourage her as well as her usual drinker! i also syringed some into her as well just to be sure she had some in her system!
