Hi everyone! I was just wondering what the possibilities of doing like 6 weeksish of horse related work experience at en eventing yard or similar place over the summer was. I'm pretty experienced and can like bandage/plait/ride to an acceptable standard. The only thing is I would be looking to take my horse with me. do those sorts of placements exist? and whereabouts would i would be able to find them? Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU EVERYBODY!!!

How old are you hun? A respectable yard would need you to have some sort of an employment contract (at the very least this would be an insurance requirement) and depending on your age that might be difficult. Also, to take your horse with you to a full time job is one thing but to take him to a 6 weeks summer job is something else entirely. Aren't there any yards/riding schools closer to you where you could learn AND look after your horse where he is now? No offence intended but eventing yards often have seriously expensive horses in their care and I'm not sure what you mean by riding to an acceptable standard. I think you're searching for the impossible hun but good luck anyway x

I'm just really looking for an opportunity to have some properly horsey time before I go off to uni..By acceptable standard of riding I mean I have competed at numerous affiliated events, did all the pony club stuff etc, have ridden my instructors eventers. I'm not really looking to get paid just maybe for some lessons. Im really hardworking and I have experience working on an event yard..is what i'm looking for totally unrealistic?
