Help.....please.

I had a Bay TB mare with a stripe like that. She was sooooo pretty too

Go & take a look......you don't have to buy it. If you don't go & take a look you'll always be wondering if you should have gone. At worst you've burnt a few gallons of fuel.....at best you've got a sell on which will earn you a crust. Go on, you know you want to.

But this was one of my "this years seller's on"

He is what I go for - remember he was the horse I bought at the Yard Sale. He sold well and I did well out of the sale. Same age as this red dun by the way.

Isn't he

. You see this is what all my seller on's look like. They are always flashy looking and have beautiful natures aswell.

I think you are right - even if I do feed him up, I would probably have to keep him for 2 years to get him looking how I want him and then he would still be just a horse - nothing flashy about him.

But the price of the fuel will be more than the price of the horse - it then makes the horse not so much of a bargain, although granted it is still way underpriced, but you can see why.

He could improve (alot!) but looking at the pics, my money is on this being the case!

I probably would if it was closer.....and maybe I will. I just cannot make up my mind - must be getting old and even more lazy than normal.

You'd be amazed at the ugly ducklings that turn into swans. (Excuse the phrase)Hes not ugly - hes just young. With some grub, time and work he'll be a different horse horse. I've just bought something similar - well in terms of being a scrawny babe - and I'm just gonna wait and see - no rush - cause once again its only 2. Have had her 2 months - and dont regret it yet LOL!!
Good luck and let us know how you get on

I think you should go for it - if you would like to I could show you pics of our two year old Dales colt we picked up earlier this year; and how he looks now - he looked like absolutely nothing, but is quite nice now!
I quite like that horse actually - even though he's not exactly what you usually go for, he'd surely still be sellable? I'd say go for it

The fact that you are seriously considering going, and buying him, means that something about him appeals to you. From what I know of you, your instinct is rarely wrong. You will know yourself what your instinct is telling you deep down, so go with it!

I quite like him and I 'feel' he could be a good one, for what it's worth.

If i was you i would go and see him.

My friend bred the ugliest palomino filly EVER, im not joking we all called her aardvaak (sp?) everything was wrong with her. But when she was 4, she was WOW, very stunning and went on to win a lot in-hand. She had her first foal this year, a really really stunning cremello colt who is being retained to become the future stud stallion. So he could be exactly the same!!!!

Thank you everyone for your help. I have finally decided not to go. I know he will likely blossom, I know that barely any of the people who buy from me over here look at anything but the colour of the horse and I know he is a quiet guy with a sort of cute charm.......but I don't think he "has it".

Had they a trailer and been prepared to deliver him, then I possibly would have taken him, but I am too lazy to travel this distance; Enfys it is an hour and a half north, so not in your direction unfortunately.

I really think I kept going back to him because I was clutching at straws. I've never had so much trouble finding good horses, they tend to just fall into my lap, but not this year and I feel if I were to go and buy him then I would be dropping my standards of what I expect from a young horse. The others that I bought as seller-ons were the same age as this one so I am used to seeing this age-group and unfortunately this little one is just not in the same calibre.

Sense has finally hit me. I'll just wait until I see what I am looking for.......hopefully it won't be too much longer.
