Ok, posted the other day about some tips for getting through the dressage phase of a ODE, and you were all very helpful, the thing is I am riding one of my bosses horses that is fantastic sj, and xc, but I had no idea what she was like in dressage (I have only ever hacked her, or hunted her

Finally got a chance to have a go schooling her yesterday, and it was a complete disaster, she just doesn't bend, or work correctly, the more you ask the stroppier she gets, now my question is, as I know we will do abysmally in the dressage anyway, should I just forget about an outline and just try and get her moving forwards, and try and be really accurate?

If this was my horse I would cancel and work on it for the next month, but unfortunately that is not an option.

advice please!

Yes, I think that would be what I would do as cancelling isn't an option. Just work on riding him forwards from your leg and accurately (sp?). Hopefully in the mean time he may start to bend a little *fingers crossed for you*

Ash is in a similar situation where as neither her or the horse has ever done dressage, she has been told by various people to make sure she is acurate and gets into corners etc and not to worry about how pretty or ( unpretty in ottos case ) it is
