In October I put my horse on full loan and long story short, he didn't get on well there, they didn't treat him right and tried to put the blame onto me (Threatened to keep my horse the day before I was due to collect him until I paid them money to which i said i would call the police if they did so.)
He is now at a new loan where he has been for over 3 months and getting on really well, the family is lovely and he looks fantastic.

The yard he is at has a public walk way around the outskirts of it and i have recently found out that the old loaners keep walking past and stopping to look at him, etc.
The new loaners aren't fazed by it and ignore them, as they know the truth of what happened when he was under their care.

I feel extremely uncomfortable with them anywhere near him because of the way he was treated and because of the way they spoke to me and threatened me.

It may seem a bit overdramatic, but is there anyway I can prevent them from going near my horse?

Thank you in advance

Public walk way - they can go where they please.
realistically, you would have to move him to where it was private.
if they then came to see him on private land it would be trespassing.
Is there a field away from the walk way?

The field he is in is far enough away that they can't reach him. The new loaners have said each time he sees them he pins his ears back and runs to the opposite end of the field (Furthest away from the walkway)
Unfortunately moving him isn't an option as they have 2 other horses with them and have been at this yard for over 9 years :/

Do they live nearby or they travel there to see him?

.

As intimidating and sort of stalkerish as it is, if he’s far enough away that he can’t be touched etc by them then that’s all you can do bar move and not tell them where you’ve gone.

if they try to access the yard without permission to be there, that’s not ok.

ignore the behaviour and get your
loaner to do the same and hopefully they get sick.

They live about 10 minutes away from his yard, so its within walking distance.

Thank you - luckily the new loaners are lovely and just ignore them

Ah if they just live nearby probably nothing to do. I would just made sure with YO that the horse will always be in the field away from the public road and explained why - in case they would be so daring to come to the yard. Totally understand why it bothers you.

It would pee me off as well to be honest - I would find it quite intimidating. I don’t think you’re being over dramatic.

You ended the loan and you wanted them away from you and your horse.

However really, not much you can do unless they start trespassing.

Thank you, I just want it left behind and to move on.

It just makes me uneasy with the way he reacts to them and like you said very intimidating

I would maybe call the police (non emergency number) just to register your concerns, and to have it on file that they are bordering on intimidation. Keep a diary of whenever you/the new loaners notice the old loaners there, and if they say anything etc. Just for the record. Then get on with life, trust the new loaners to treat him better and to enjoy him!

This could be an idea. My daughter has had trouble with two people and I eventually managed to get her to report it. The police were great, there’s nothing they can do but if anything else ever happens she can ring at the time and at that point the rest of it will also be taken into consideration.
Nothing to loose.

Could you stick up some wildlife cameras (real or dummy)?
If they thought they were being watched they might be more likely to behave
