Hi all,

I know that I can drive my horsebox (3.5t and im 23).

But someone has questioned this on my yard and I want to print something off that says I can drive it. Thanks !!

And it's if you passed your test before 1997 I believe. Try the DVLA site

A 3.5ton horsebox can be driven on a normal driver's license, just thought i'd mention this after seeing MrsMozart response. Maybe the person at your yard doesn't realise a 3.5ton can be driven on a normal license?

I'm sure that i'm right.

I think the girl (26) wants a 3.5t horsebox but thinks she needs a special license. But she also thinks that she cant drive a trailer?

Im not sure - I just like being able to prove i'm right lol

ok cool.

I know a girl that drives her trailer without a test, she says that you dont need a test. But she isnt the sort of person that would like to argue with!! lol

MrsMozart, yes. I have a 3.5ton, and am 22 and took my test in 2005.

The difficulty is getting them insured

lauraheads, if they took their test before 97, they can drive a trailer and a 7.5ton, if not, they would need a license to do either

I found this that is for a caterogy B license--

"Motor vehicles with a MAM not exceeding 3500kg having not more than eight passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg. Combinations of towing vehicles in category B and a trailer, where the MAM of the combination does not exceed 3500kg and the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle"

That should do the job!
