Basically my pony is a bit of an oddball when it comes to shape and size, fitting her with a saddle has been a long and somwhat painful task (she has very flat withers and nothing would stay in place). Anyhoot, Kitty is a tb x nf x wb,she is a full up 13'2 and has a very delicate head that would appear dainty...or perhaps not!!! Pony size bridles are too small particularly the headpiece and throatlash and genrally do'nt seem to fit properly. The cob size however I can get to fit-ish: noseband fits on smallest hole, with extra hole for throatlash as high as I can get the buckle, likewise with noseband (which in turn stops the browband fitting properly or rubs) and the cheekpieces are too long (with normal snaffle but mostly use hanging cheek which is worse). I must point out that for jumping I tend to use a cheltenham gag and this fits ok. I would like to buy Kitty a really nice (padded), smart bridle, but have no idea what size to get as obviously theres no point if I'm cutting it to pieces with a hole puncher and wrecking the finish on the leather by pulling on smaller cheek pieces that have a buckle too small for the leather strap. So does anybody have a ny solution/suggestions for a make of bridle that seems to solve this problem / any good brands at a reasonable price to look out for?

Thanks it would be much appreciated.

What about bespoke? It's obviously very important to get well fitting tack and it seems you have one of "those" that need to have it made for them.

All tack is fairly adjustable but if you are really struggling, have one made. It's not that expensive if you shop around.

As for saddlery, consider treeless perhaps?

I'd look at making your own bridle up with separate parts; my mare's is a combination of cob and full size. Jeffries sell parts separately if you look on their website. :)

As an alternative you can buy spares to make up a custom fit bridle from Sabre as well. My two big ones both take a full size headpiece but cob cheeks.

Ok, thanks I will check all of these out. Also thanks for saddle suggestion but thankfully we finally found one a couple of weeks bak which i so far so good! fingers crossed :)
