Walk (and free walk), trot and canter - both reins. Normally you'll have to perform 20m circles, changes of rein across the diagonal, they get a bit more complex the higher up you go. A website called dressagediagrams.com is useful as it has diagrams of exactly what you need to do. Hope that helps!!
also there are 2 prelims called A and B where you dont have to canter, good for babies, first timers etc I guess

Further to above answers, prelim tests can include 20m circles in walk, trot and canter, 10m half circles in walk and trot, give and retake the reins in trot and one (p18) has a three loop serpentine in trot as well. Normally you follow roughly the same pattern on each rein so they aren't too tricky to remember.

ETA Also several tests include cantering across the diagonal and returning to trot either just after X or just before hitting the track - which IMO is a fairly tricky move and probably the most difficult thing I've found at prelim level.

You can start with the walk trot ones and then stick to the lower numbers which are the easiest. As you progress towards the higher numbers you are assumed to be working towards an easy Novice test. Also bear in mind that 15 and 19 are in the long arena too....

there are walk and trot - introductory tests - that you can start with if you are unsure of doing a prelim test. prelim tests aren't that difficult though and if you ride the test accurately you can still get good scores even if your horse isn't the best. although its supposed to be the higher the number the harder the test i actually think some of the higher numbered tests are nicer to ride than some of the lower numbered tests.
