What is the best way to get a REALLY thick, greasy, scurfy coat clean enough to clip in this freezing weather? I've tried hot clothing him in hot water and Dettol but he's still too dirty to ask someone to clip him. I'd be embarrassed.
I used a lycra rug under his rug yesterday and today the scurf was like a powder on the top of the lycra when I took the top one off. Where I patted his back it was like talc coming through. His coat is shiny on the surface but I don't think he's been groomed in absolutely ages by the amount of scurf and grease underneath. He's booked to be clipped next Thursday and I'm desperate to get him clean enough by then.
Any ideas what I can try?
