I know I'm probably looking into this a bit early but I just want to prepared. Next year I am going to do a masters degree at Uni in health psychology. I can really go anywhere in the country. My plan was to find a uni that is close to a dressage yard with a good trainer and shows nearby. I have a list of unis that do my course so if anyone could recommend me some trainers or give me some suggestions it would be great!

The unis are

Uni of Nottingham
Aston Uni
Uni of Glamorgan
Uni of Wales
Coventry Uni
Uni of West of England, Bristol
Uni of Hertforshire
Liverpool John Moores
Sheffield Hallam
Brunel Uni
Uni of Manchester
DeMontfort Uni
Uni of Stafforshire
Uni of Bradford
Uni of Surrey
Uni of Derby
Uni of Teeside
Uni of Middlesex
Uni Of Bath
Uni of Northumbria
Uni of Southampton
Uni of Central Lancashire
Uni of Sussex

If you go to Cov uni there are lots of great yards and trainers in Warwickshire - I assume you'll have a car with you?!

I can't recommend Emma Hawley enough who is Warwickshire based... and I know of a fab livery yard too :)

Thanks Falcon

Do you have any details of the livery yards such as website so I can start to form a list? Its very exciting to have the opportunity to go anywhere but at the same time how do i make a decision?!! I obviously have to get into uni first but fingers crossed thats not too much of a challenge!

Nottingham uni would be good plenty of access to nearby countryside and in particular Vale View equestrian a large livery yard with 2 indoors, 2 outdoors and a portable xc training course as well as having fab trainer caroline moore based there as well as John steel, and plenty of competitions in dressage, showjumping and arena eventing etc and training clinics inc DR with Ian woodhead and andrew fletcher. unsure of livery costs but there are plenty of livery yards in the surrounding area.

Demonfort on the other hand is in the middle of leicester and would induce many traffic jams and a fair amount of travel to get to your horse.

hope this helps :)
