My competition horse has really runny poo at the moment - they are formed but are sloppy !!!!

he is fed mollichaff / nuts and good hay

is there anything i can feed to help settle his tummy x

Something like Protexin Bio Premium- have used that in the past when my horses were suffering the same, and that sorted them out- I seem to remember we bought it off of the vets but you can also buy from Hyperdrug or somewhere, pink powder is also good, but if it's bad have found the bio premium to work much better, or apparently live yoghurt from the supermarket has the same effect.
Also years ago I had a horse that would suffer from scouring and the vet I used at the time said it was caused by wet weather/flood conditions and used to prescribe Baytril antibiotic which cleared it up- it was v bizarre, (but he was right!), also have found with my horses that anything with lots of molasses in has the same effect, assume all worming is ok too as that can give them the runs!

An old fashioned remedy, a handful of plain white flour in their feed will usually sort out the problem, much cheaper that all the so called remedies, and has stood the test of time, it has worked on countless occassions for me.

really i have never heard of that one - ill try that tonight x

.....I always put it down to the quantity of water they consume when the grass is so wet.....my mare always gets sloppier poo when it has rained a lot, but it soon firms up and she is fine in herself......
