in November i had a saddle company saddle made for my youngster it is a gp but has a square cantal and is quite forward cut, it’s a nice saddle etc but i haven’t been 100% happy with it

, it’s been rubbing at the back pretty much from day one so had the saddler back out and he reflocked it, i was a bit suspect with this as it’s a new saddle
confused.gif
, anyway i had to go and collect it from the shop again so he didn’t even come back to see it fitted

but that’s a different bug i have with him and will sort that when i have sorted saddles... I’ve also been having napping problems since day one as well he is under the mctiminey lady and he is now sorted but still having slight nappy problems, i also don’t feel all that safe in it
crazy.gif
or should i say on it!, i feel like i am just perched on top instead of sitting into him and driving him forwards
grin.gif
and i am constantly adjusting myself!

. So to my point of the post really!, i have decided to sell it and see about another saddle so my question is how much do saddle company saddle sell for?, where’s the best place, eBay or would part exing be better?

ideally i also need a dressage saddle so do i buy two saddles a jumping and a dressage, get a fitter out with lots and see what i like, or i was thinking about a wow saddle, how much am i looking at new or second hand where do i find them for sale? etc, of course i would have a wow fitter out so i know if i like them/ what sizing he needs etc but if i can find a second hand one that would be better.. so what should i do , saddle are the Bain of my life... I would certainly look at changing your current saddle as you do not feel its right for either you or your horse. I would looooove a WOW and it would give you the choice of flaps so you could do dressage as well, but it might be worth getting a good saddle fitter out as well so you can try a range of different saddles before making a decision. SC saddles seem to sell well on ebay and they are popular so I would expect you would get a decent price for it (sorry dont know how much)

Hi,
Wow saddles are superb and you never need to sell them if your horse changes shape as you can just have a new section fitted to suit. Second hand they range from £800 - £1000 (www.saddlesdirect.co.uk) or if you are looking at a new one then the 'CLUB' range retail about £1250 new and the 'COMPETITOR' range from £1600 new! Make sure they are a fully qualified Wow fitter as some of the normal saddlers try to dabble with them but some don't understand the whole concept of them. If you look on the Wow website it gives you loads of info about the fitting etc and a list of their fitters in your area.

thanks for your replys, i have booked the local wow fitter and she in coming on the 2nd april(found her on the wow site so she should be ok shouldnt she?), she asked me lots of questions etc which i though was good, i shall see how i find them etc find out which bit's i need etc and then see what is around second hand before i buy a new one i'm very excited

If you make a note of what your horse needs ie, panel with or without gusset, with or without stitch line, with tabs or without plus the flap type you can then pick one up on e-bay for around £750 there are a couple on there at present but you will need to know exactly which sections your horse needs or you will need to spend more money changing some of the parts will cost more in the long run! You will still need to have her back out to pump up or reduce the flair system, this is done while you are sitting on the horse!
