I have a rising 5 who has a sensitive mouth. Dentist came out end March who said he was changing insisors and 2 canines due to come through. 3 of the insisors have come through and we had a period of unable to eat his hard food and his hay from a haynet. After a week this resolved. Now the 4th insisor is very loose. When I got him in from the field 2 days ago he had a little blood coming from his mouth and the front of his rug had blood on it. He was having trouble eating his hay and food again. When I looked in his mouth (with a little difficulty as normally he doesn't care what you do to his mouth) I could see the baby tooth was still there but the new tooth has started to come through the gum. Only problem was he now has a small slit along his gum and is very sore. This morning the baby tooth is still there but did eat his sloppy hard food a little better. He is a very sensitive boy. I have stopped riding him until this resolves as his mouth is too sore to have a bit in.

Is there anything I could try to ease the pain? I have changed his feed to calm and condition as it is softer and he looses weight quickly. I admit to not knowing much about teeth. I am waiting for the dentist to get back to me but I feel so helpless and hate seeing him like this and he is feeling very sorry for himself :( Any help would be very grateful :)
