Hi all hope you can help!

I am looking to put my mare in foal again this year and could really do with some advice regarding potential boyfriends!! She had a foal in 2005 by Krisinksy and proved to be a very good mum so we would like to try again!!

Shes almost 16hh and is dutch warmblood x tb (her sire is called Polruan who was a little known sire by Interpol). She has a very good temperement and does a little bit of everything but could probably do a lot more if she had a better rider!!! shes's got a cracking jump and moves nicely for dressage.

I have a dream of breeding the next olympic event horse!!! but know this isn't going to happen so would just like something capable of doing a bit of everything!! - Hopefully a little bigger than her and i would possibly go back to the tb again although i am fully open to suggestions!!

I think her neck is a little weak but am fully prepared to take any criticisms or weaknesses you think shes got!

If the foal is a colt then i would hope to keep it but if a filly its likely i would want to sell on after doing some inhand hunter/sports horse showing. Do you thinks its important i choose something 'fashionable' to help with the sale??

Any suggestions or advice much welcomed! Here are some photos - sorry I haven't got any ridden ones on the computer!

Interesting - I'm more likely to keep fillies than colts, as then if good enough, then you can keep going with the generations...

Whereabouts are you in the south west? If you use AI, do you have a localish AI centre or good and experienced vets?

Yeah definately agree with you about the generation thing but i am just being selfish - i would really like something to ride and prefer the attitudes of geldings!! Our vets specialise in breeding so no problems there - they are very good!

I've got a youngster by Kings Composer and he sounds like he could fit the bill, might be worth a look

LMAO!! I was gonna suggest him too, but hi semen does not chill or freeze. Apparently they had a nightmare time trying everything they could at Twemlows, but it just won't. So if you want to use him, you have to take the mare to Cornwall - he does get mares sent to him from Ireland mind you.....

Have you had a look at what West Kington Stud in Wilts have on their list? Their facilities are great and you would have a huge choice for all types and budgets?

To breed a well made horse who will be suitable as an all rounder, but have the quality to potentially do more, my long list would include:
Relief Pitcher at Vauterhill Stud.
Lostock Huntsman at Llangaller Stud
& It's WithouT Doubt at Brendon Hill

No science, just some I would have used on Sienna to breed a similar type.

Shes lovely looking. What can u spare to spend basically!!!
I love TB's so I'd say put her one of them

Where abouts are u and how far are u prepared to travel?

I went down the AI route first of all as i was using a stallion in holland. I can honestly say - from my experience - what a complete nightmare. Vets fees were in excess of £700, not including the stud fee and we attempted twice and she didn't take so i sent her to Vauterhill Stud where I used Ramexico, but they have a choice of stallions there. The fees are so reasonable and service is excellent there, they take care of everthing for you.
