Help. Stolen Dog (also in Stolen) SP3

Please help.....

Last night between 8 and 10pm our 3 year old border collie bitch (working sheep dog) was stolen from her kennel which is located 3 steps from our back door.

The thieves went into her kennel and took her shutting all the doors behind them. She is black and white and very small. She is quite timid but very friendly and loves working.

Please any information wanted, there is a reward for her safe return, no questions asked.

Post in Dogs too. Where in the country are you? Stick posters up highlighting reward, put an advert in your local paper, inform police, dog warden & vets in your area & neighbouring counties. Get her on Dogslost, lots of publicity is whats needed. Good luck, everything crossed for you & her x

Thank you everyone. Here is a picture.

We are based in Wiltshire very close to Dorset and Somerset.
She is now on dog lost, we have a crime number, vets, identichip, local radio and papers all have been informed. We have also started putting posters up.

We are all very upset and think that someone may have been watching us, had knowledge of our routine as you can not see the kennel from the road.

Her microchip number is 985120023042065

What kind of horrid people would take such a lovely looking dog?!?!?
I really dont understand why someone do do something like that to someone who obviously loves their dog very much!! It makes me so angry :mad:
Hope you get her back soon, you must feel so upset :( x
 
Hi all.

At 5.30ish this evening we had a call from the vet to say they had found our dog. She had been left on the A303 near Andover (45 miles away). I think she became to hot to handle or possibly would not work for anyone else.

A BIG thank you for everyones kind encouragement and help, it proves that sometimes flooding the network does work

She is definately now living in the house, I can't even bear to go out side on my own so there is no way I will be letting her live out there.

We will just have to work harder on our training

Great new you have her back!!!!

Careful with the training - it's said that a house trained BC loses its work ethic. I don't know if this is just an old farmer's wife tale though...
 
I probably sound unsympathetic, but were you keeping her outside? If so, then you really would only have yourselves to blame. People will steal anything and, yes, they probably were watching you and your activities. It doesn't matter whether she was 3 feet or 30 feet away if she was outside your back door - you gave the thieves a head start. If she was 3 feet INSIDE the back door, have you told the police, and are there any fingerprints? And have you lost anything else.

Personally I think it is more than unsympathetic to say the OP only has herself to blame. Collies are working dogs. If they wanted to steal her then being in or out wouldn't stop them either way. Most working dogs live outside. I really feel for the OP and glad it's a happy ending.

My sister had her collie x stolen last month too, the dogs are not just pets but look after the farm, machinery and chase off Mr fox and most dogs wouldn't have it any other way, unless of course there is room on the duvet!
 
Sorry, it did sound ratty when I re-read it,but this is the third working dog that I've heard of being stolen recently. The dog on this forum that VERY happily is now reunited with its owners, a springer that was chained to its kennel and yes, you've guessed it, they stole the kennel as well, and a farmer whose collie was kept in an outhouse at night.

I don't have working dogs now but my family used to. They had the run of the house at night, and, fair enough, they weren't patrolling the policies, but they raised the alarm on badgers, foxes and undesirable humans.

But I really AM glad the dog is safely home
