Could anyone recomend any type of feed supplement for a horse (14yrs old) on total box rest (is walked for ten mins twice a day) as her legs are retaining a lot of fluid due to being stood in so much. The problem for which she is on box rest is unrelated but her hocks are very filled as are her fetlocks. Or, are there any creams that i can put on the area to help this problem until she can be exercised again?
Thanks for any thoughts... :)

You could do lots of grooming and leave tubigrips on during the day. Clivers and marigold are herbs to help the lymphatic system.

Have you tried bandaging her legs? Is it possible to walk her in hand for a few minutes a couple of times a day? If the reason for her box rest allows, it might help a bit. Sorry, i can't thing of a supplement that might help

She is walked for ten mins in the morning and ten mins in the evening (although she is out of the stable for half an hour to 40 mins in the evening; ten mins actually walking and the rest grazing in hand). She can't do any more than this as she is in due to a tendon injury on a front leg.
I didn't mention but she is always bandaged on all four legs at night and off during the day. Her legs are cold hosed twice during the day. She is groomed everyday too.
I'll try the Cleavers and Marigold... thanks.
It is so frustrating.... the tendon is supposd to be my worry and it is now the least of my worries!!!
