Help, Trouble turning Right

Hi
I have an 18 month old colt who i have shown a few times in hand and been perfectly mannered but took him in the school yesterday to practice before his BIG show and he has decided he cant turn right around the corners in trot, instead he either carries on getting faster or pushes me into the fence (not pleasent as its electric).
When i stop him he turns left into me.
He walks when i walk, stops when i stop (in walk) and i just speed up and he trots so he is tuned into my body language.

My OH this it maybe cause he is at home that he is playing up.


Anyone got any handy tips or techniques they would like to share?

Might sound a bit simplistic but is it possible to practise so you aren't in danger of being ploughed into the fence? Maybe in smaller circles (not small per se, but away from the boundary) in the centre of the school?
