Help - trying to complain re my Doctors surgery.....

Long story but I'll keep it brief, so some info missing. In December 2025 I had a hip xray and have severe changes to my right hip. I was referred for a hip injection after being told I was a little young for a hip op. 4 months on and I still have no idea re a date for the injection. Unfortunately since then the advice I have had from the surgery has been dismissive at best. The pain in my hip has got considerably worse but they will not now refer me for a hip op as quote "I am no longer their problem as they've referred me for the injection". Any advice on the way forward that they have given me I have followed and it has been wrong. I have compiled a complaint which I have sent to the partnerships complaint email. After 4 weeks I had heard nothing, so I resubmitted the complaint and asked for confirmation of receipt and a rough timescale for dealing with the complaint. 2 weeks on and I have still heard nothing. Anyone any suggestions where I go from here? I've never been a person to do an official complaint but I am so mad at the way I am being treated. I have learnt that I live in an area, in the county, that is notoriously bad and my doctors surgery is particularly bad in this area. However I can't change doctors so am stuck with what I have. Advice to how I can take this forward?
 
Go back to PALS if they can't or won't help then go to the CCG. The surgery should have got back to you so they are in breech of their "contract" if you Google there is a set time limit to acknowledge and respond in (cannot remember what it is as retired!).
Joint injections do not help severe arthritic changes. They also mean surgery cannot happen for several months due to infection risk. They are not an appropriate treatment for severe changes.

Having had a similar problem with the pain escalating I did see a surgeon privately (250 plus 75 for the xray as he wanted to see for himself). Turned out in the time I had been waiting I had developed a fracture as the joint was so eaten away. I was still walking albeit in a lot of pain. It had actually started to heal and was semi stable but I used crutches for a couple of months then paid for a replacement as NHS told me 18 to24 months was fine as it was healing and I was mobile on crutches....
Please complain again and you are entitled to see an orthopaedic surgeon for this.
I have a GP friend who had a hip replacement at 50 as it was so bad. You're never too young, if you need one you need one. Severe changes deteriorate quickly as does your mobility. Don't be afraid to complain.
I cannot tell you what a difference it made to me. I was off crutches 4 weeks post op, driving at 5 weeks. 10 months later I am better than the previous 3 years and walking the dogs, travelling and living my best painfree life. I was in hospital 2 nights. It could have been 1 night but OH thought I was staying in and when I phoned at 5pm on Friday he had "popped" down the pub with his mate and was too jolly to collect me🤣 so I stayed a 2nd night as planned😁.
Don't put up with the pain and dreadful treatment.
 
Put the complaint in an email to the practice and copy in your local MP, the CQC and the local health trust - Do you have legal cover on your home insurance? It might be worth looking at a negligence claim if your condition has gotten worse. Keep at them and don't give up. My friend got her knee op finally after not being listened to at first but she had to fight.
 
You can complete an online complaint on the Care Quality Commission website. I did one when my awful gp practice (since being taken over by Modality) would not allow me to have my annual cardiac review. I don’t know if it helped but they were ultra diligent about it the following year.
 
You’d normal email the Practice Manager, but I think it’s gone beyond that.

As an aside, brush aside your standard hospital waiting list and (when you have a useful GO) request your referral to a Practice Plus treatment centre. I’ve recommended them so many times, on the back of personal experience through family and friends. No help to you but I have just changed GP due to the lack of interest in what ever is wrong with me. In my last phone consultation the GP said ( and she was a partner) I do not know what is causing your symptoms!
I have a Hosp app tomorrow so hope to get some answers but in your position I would complain and if at all possible change GP. I honestly do not know whats going on with some GPs now. I have had issues for a year, only been examined once in 12 months. Its almost like they only want to talk on the phone and not see you in person. Ended up having to go to A and E to get anywhere where I was at least given a through exam.
The new GP does seem a lot better but it is honestly worrying how little some of them seem to care.
 
I was in great pain for weeks after hitting my knee, falling onto a stone floor. GP sent me for physio which didnt help. I delayed doing more thinking it would improve and when it did not, I was seen by another GP who after examination, grabbed my leg and gave it an almighty pull. I screamed at the pain. She sent me for an X ray which showed nothing because whatever she had done was a pretty instant cure. There is still bruising but I knew as soon as I walked out of the surgery that she had fixed it.
It was stupid of me to wait 6 weeks before seeking help. OH strained his back a few days ago and we went straight to GP website which provided on line guidance and initial treatment.
