Hiya, I'm selling my boy and I am taking over his care in a few weeks, so I need to de-fluff him as I'm calling it to make him presentable for viewings. I had a few questions. What's the easiest/fastest way to get rid of malting hair? he has EMS which I think is why he gets a very curly coat, especially on his legs, how do you get the coat not to curl as much? Also, he is a highland so isn't clipped etc but where is okay to trim, chin? feather?

I just think if you part clip it will just make the unclipped bits look even more curly/hairy. You could leave half face and legs on but on legs use clippers to tidy!

I would not clip him to sell, a part clip would be pointless a full clip may look smarter but may well put people off as they will wonder why he is newly clipped, they will also have to think about rugging which should not be required for his type at this time of year, as he is meant to have feathers and remain in a natural state as his breed standard I would just do the best you can, at this time of year people will not expect him to look perfect and if they do they may not be the right people for your pony.
Really work on the coat, give his mane and tail a good wash and ensure he is as well groomed as possible for viewings.
