HELP very smelly wind

Both Claire's and my puppy have terrible wind problems.Hersis on Royal Canin puppy food and breeders choice tripe mix tin food [only half a tin ]
Mine is on eukanuba puppy food and a bit of the breeders choice tripe mix tin.
Both are small dogs but the smell is terrible.Is it the tin food?
Our older dogs don't have the same problem

Some dry food have added carbon which helps with smelly wind so once they are old enough it may be worth a try.
In the meantime give some burnt toast a go!

It's the flat face. They take down extra air, which produces gas. Feeding a high quality food (I do raw and cooked fresh, combined) will eliminate the problem entirely.

Mine are on dry but if they have rawhide/bones that makes the air alot to be desired!!!

But could be the tin food...

Could be the tinned food.My dog has terrible wind if he eats Pigs ears,but he loves them so much.We stank out the vets waiting room.Everybody had to go outside it was that bad..

we were discussing that puppy classes a couple of weeks ago. The trainer recommended raising the food off the floor to help prevent the gulping of air with the food (slows down the eating a bit)

Certainly worth a shot (although she did say that the tinned food din't help either)

I give him bonio carbon biscuits - god help us if we ever run out!

I must be stupid ,I had no idea it was to do with taking air in , I thought it was to do with fermentation,lol

Charcoal can help, you can get biscuits called charcoal cobs, we sell them alot to people that have windy dogs and have alot of repeat customers that recommend them, you can also get granules too. Firstly though i'd try cutting the wet food out. And buy some air freshener

We weaned and fed our pups on Eukanuba and several of the new owners reported smelly problems. We changed Twiglet to a salmon based food at around 6 months and she is massively better though still trumps a bit!!

Just found this. Didn't know that about German Shepherds. You learn something new, I guess...

This doesn't necessarily affect their overall nutrition, but it can result in foul-smelling gas. Other gassy breeds include Boxers, Bulldogs, and Pugs. These dogs have short, flat faces, and short respiratory tracts. They gasp quite a bit and tend to swallow air when they eat, which can result in extra gas."
