Hi I would really like some advise...
Has anybody ever had a horse that has done an injury that has made it look like a crab at the back end but walk straight at the front? What was it and how long did it take to get right? The vet has been out and said the horse isnt in pain and to box rest, walk in hand and bute, and didn;t seem too worried about the crab walk? Ideas would be very welcomed! Thanks.

Have you had a good osteopath to look at the horse? Is he sensative to touch / showing pain etc around his back or pelvic area?

No just the vet only happened over the weekend, horse was fine before went in the field and I think it slipped, vet said maybe stifle had popped out? I rang a phhysio but they said give the bute/box rest a few more days. It can weight bear, but one of the back legs looked strange over the weekend, but looks normal now. It can lay down/get up and is happy in itself, moving around box etc

Sounds like your horse is suffering Ataxia to me, has you vet done any Neuro Tests ?
I would be getting the vet back & getting a work up done asap.

The vet pulled the tail, to se if the dock could be clamped down (it could) checked the tongue and mouth (?), turned in circles, both back legs could cross round in a tight circle and put the horse at about 2/10 lame. Also picked feet up, which it could do, hoof clamps were used and vet said possible abcess coming through right toe but couldn't find any real evidence of that...help!
