Hi all, need some advice please. My friend has just had her 4 yr cob backed ( sent away 8 wks ago) he's been home now for 2 weeks. Few sessions into his training he started to rear, only when my friend mounted. We're talking big old vertical!! Ridden work is fine, just when my friend gets on.

He dosent always do it, but yesterday decided to throw one in. Back, teeth and tack checked.

Anyone have any ideas?

is it possible shes gathering the reins too tight when shes mounting? maybe upsetting the pony if its not the same routine as the person who started him-might be worth asking them.

She's using a mounting block. I hold pony with lead rein. No jabbing the mouth or digging in ribs.
Feed Is a handful of chaff and fly off supplement. No changes.

If he's trying his luck any ideas how to stop him? Rather dangerous. Thanks all
