Hi, my mare had had a clip on her belly and neck and her hair is slowly growing back. She is quite warm in the stable during the day but still needs a rug at night. I think she might be too warm in her saxon lightweight stable rub, anyone have any other ideas what might help keep her warm. I thought a fleece might be too hot, and I felt a bit cruel leaving her without one. Thanks

Mine is clipped and if he was in at night I would be using a heavy stable rug, the last thing you want it it to be cold as there is limited movement for them

My goodness! All yous are lucky for it to be so warm where you are! I'm in scotland and my horse is fully clipped with a heavy weight stable rug at night and a heavy weight turnout with a neck cover during the day. I must admit the temperature has varied at night but i think you just have to go on what it's like where you are and in your stable. Indoor stables will naturally be warmer than outdoor ones. Plus it is always better for a horse to be cooler than too warm

It so difficult, she is in a barn, more or less in the middle so it is quite warm and she is a heavy wight cob that tends to be warm naturally nayway. When I leave her at night she is really warm but then I worry about the temperature dropping at night. In the moring she quite hot with a lightweight rug on so I think she could do without one, but I just feel mean. I have seen her rubbing herself trying to get the rug off in the past, so would hate to thibk of her being stressed in the night being too hot, better a bit cold than hot I think.
