Hi all, I’m Hoping to do a local show in May with my little mare but I have no idea what classes to put her in (will just be doing in hand as it’s going to be very busy).
She’s very welsh in appearance but not full welsh I don’t think (and no breeding to go with her either) and is 15hh.
Because she has no breeding I was assuming I can’t go in M&M only really go in mares/ bays/ best condition or there is a traditional cob class?
Any (kind) advice would be gratefully received thank you :)

For an unaffiliated show they normally have a cob type class or a riding club horse class. Or plait her and trim her and pop her in the hunter type. She isn't really a traditional cob tbh.

As she isnt purebred with breeding you can't do the M&M class

Do you have a copy of the schedule? its easier to suggest classes if I can see the class list

Class 17 is ideal for her! I'd call her a native type cob.
You can also do classes 21, 26, 31, 35, 36, 46

ETA, looks like a great schedule, where is it?

It’s in Driffield East York’s., it’s the country ( not county) show :)
Just out of interest if she did 17 would she be unplaited then have to be plaited in the others or can I get away with unplaited all day?

ahh, i'm not far from you (beverley)! I did think of going to it but I'm away that weekend.

If you turn her out as a native cob then she could do that all day, none of the other classes I listed require plaiting and generaly you turn out to type any way. Julie who runs the show is lovely so if you are unsure you can always message her on facebook and she will be happy to help

I'd want to check they dont have to be coloured for class 17. Native cob would mean the coloured natives classes you get to me, but who knows at local level!
Normally it would but not with this show, The person who runs this show puts classes on for all types and if it were coloured only it would state it.
